Below are links to the assignments, directions, and additional information for my 8th grade Computer Applications classes and for our T3 Webteam. Assignments are "learner-centered" and require each individual to follow instructions and work at their own pace to meet assigned deadlines. Most class periods consisted of a 75 minute block of time and additional time was scheduled into each progress period for directory maintenance, make-up and bonus work. Linked for your convenience are the Technology Standards and Benchmarks used in my lessons.
These professional development files and student assignments are available on the Internet and are therefore accessible virtually 24/7. Each student is responsible for meeting deadlines and completing all assignments listed for their scheduled class.
If you are working off-campus save all of your work to a portable storage medium, i.e., flash drive, floppy disk, etc. - outside files MUST BE SCANNED BY AN UPDATED ANTI-VIRUS package prior to use on the school network. While on campus utilize your network folder. All students are required to read and follow the Technology Resources Handbook as well as all Computer Lab Rules.

Homework Assignment: Current Events in Technology NOTE: Each student will prepare a 20-slide PowerPoint presentation based on these articles for their FINAL class project. |
After every class lab period each student should add (tape) 1 article concerning technology into his Homework Journal. Each article must be properly cited, please refer to page 176 of the student's Grammar text for MLA style for referencing books, magazines, etc. Each student has a copy of "Citing Internet Resources" for properly referencing online material in MLA style. Suggested resources include PC Magazine, Newsweek, Time, Reader's Digest, CNN.com, and/or any technology related web-zine, etc. |
